Once I found this place and it's beautiful outdoor patio I was delighted that (they are the only place other than Starbucks on the ave) they carry a dairy alternative for coffee. I had a great hazelnut coffee with almond milk. And they had gluten free toast! What?! Great service and for an elite eater like me I felt more like I was back home in Cali or NYC than in Del Rey Beach.

Ciao is a very charming place. Although you can't people watch there since it is set back from Atlantic Ave, it is a definite place to go to for some quiet in a pretty garden setting. Definitely sit outside. There are a couple of tables inside but the place is very small. There is no table service. You order inside and they call you name when your order is ready. My only criticism is that when they called us only 2 of the 3 orders were ready. I hate it when that happens. I had an outstanding breakfast burrito with turkey sausage. Since there are no servers, I am not really sure if there are free refills on the coffee.

Got an iced coffee here while walking around Delray Beach. It's a cute little cafe tucked off the side of the street. There are only a couple of chairs inside, it seems like the majority of the seating is outside of the front entrance. Wish they had had simple syrup to add to my iced coffee, but they did have a bottle of agave which was a fine substitute. They also appeared to be serving mimosas with fresh squeezed OJ -- yum!

This is my favorite hidden little spot by the beach. I discovered it the other day when I saw a sign for smoothies. They have delicious healthy refreshing smoothies and amazing breakfast at affordable prices. This is a nice place to go with a friend, date, or by yourself to talk or get some work done or relax. It's very quiet and therapeutic kind of like a secret garden. A nice change from the loud bottomless mimosa spots in delray. This would be good for a first date or even a job interview. Meter street parking so easier on a weekday

Quiet area. Staff was very friendly. It's a bit hidden from the street which can be a good thing so that it's not overly crowded. I wouldn't have seen it from the street if it wasn't for YELP. Food (i ordered breakfast) was really good. I will definitely return if I'm in the area. If you get a chance the outdoor seating was just great. Quiet, separated from other tables, adds to the pleasure of enjoying a meal with someone and actually being able to hold a conversation. I almost never eat outside, but loved it here. Will return!!!

I have been going to this place for the 6 years I have lived here in South Florida. My husband, who is actually from here, has been going many years longer. First things first, the food is FRESH. My favorite sandwich/salad is the Avocado one. Even her dressings are house! Made right there. Also I am a complete sucker for her fresh homemade blueberry muffins. If you EVER go definitely try them. Don't take my word for it, if you want breakfast or lunch that is super fresh and good for ya, check it out.

This place is a little shop with a lot of flavor! They made eating healthy fun and tasty long before 'organic' and 'grown locally' was fashionable. After many years in business they still have outstanding daily specials and a smile for everyone who walks through the door.

The best breakfast burrito I have had in a long time. Fresh salsa avocado, perfectly cooked eggs wrapped in a slightly toasted tortilla. Fresh fruit was an amazing blend of bananas strawberries cantaloupe watermelon and honeydew! Homemade green tea and regular tea! The cozy tables are nestled in a quiet courtyard surrounded by Bougainville and lush Florida vegetation. The service is so friendly and fast I would eat 2 meals a day here by the Delray Beach walking distance from the Marriott. Go to Ciao now.

A hidden gem near the beach. This cafe is just a bit from the beach on atlantic. Look for their sign on the left along the sidewalk. The cafe is in a courtyard. Everything is made to order & delicious. I had an egg white omelette and it was real egg whites, not poured from the carton. Filled delightfully with fresh spinach & mushrooms. A very nice side of super fresh fruit - melons, watermelon, kiwi, pineapple & strawberries. My husband had the breakfast burrito with spinach wrap and added turkey sausage. He enjoyed it. Very pleasant casual dining off the beaten path and definitely worth the few extra steps. Give yourself time to enjoy. Its all made fresh and that takes a bit of time when they are busy.

We visited this little gem of a place for brunch one morning about a month ago while on vacation. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that their menu had many organic options as well as lots of natural ingredients. The French toast was delicious and my husband really enjoyed his breakfast burrito but one thing we cannot forget was the pina colata smoothie - hands down the best smoothie we have ever tasted (and we drink a lot of smoothies!). It was so good that I'm considering moving to Delray Beach. Just kidding but I totally tried to recreate the smoothie on my own and failed miserably. I wish I knew their tricks but until I find out I'll just look forward to the day we visit again :)

Cute little cafe nestled in the back of a hidden courtyard in downtown Delray a couple blocks from the beach. Fresh salads with outdoor patio tables in a secluded alcove. We like it since it is quiet and hidden and we can take our little dogs for an enjoyable bite after walking around the beach and downtown. This cafe is a walk in and order, then self service carry-your-tray outside kinda place. Definately not the trendy see and be seen kinda place on the ave where you are sitting on the side walk being mowed over by foot traffic. I guess it depends on the type of lunch you are looking for, but the food is fresh and priced right.

Really liked this hidden spot. Snagged a table in the courtyard with nice shade. Had a falafel sandwich and split a Greek salad. My wife had a roast beef in the 'Mediterranean' style. I don't know what that means but, in general, don't order a roast beef on a 90 degree day. I thought it was gross. No fault of the establishment. The beef was thin and medium rare. Very nice. I could eat the falafel they served everyday. And at the prices, I probably could too.

You can't go wrong at this nice little patio restaurant set back from the traffic on Atlantic Avenue. They serve breakfast all day and are reasonably priced and very friendly. I've been here several times over the years and have never had a bad experience.

Serving you fine and healthy food Since 1978, Ciao Sidewalk Cafe is a hidden gem located off Atlantic Avenue, East of the Intracoastal Bridge. There is a nice casual courtyard sitting area outside where you can dine and breathe in the fresh ocean (just two short blocks from the sand). Notable Breakfast items include the delicious omelet with your choice of fillings served with a fresh fruit salad. The muffins are also yummy. There are several vegetarian offerings, and the sandwiches and salads are excellent to boot. Give it a shot if you need a spot for breakfast or lunch, and you will not be disappointed

Short review: good, fresh, simple ingredients= delicious food. Didn't feel guilty after enjoying quite a satisfying meal. Atmosphere: was really cute. In a courtyard off to the side of the main street, with those cute little metal patio tables and chairs. (Beware though, I saw a woman who was sitting on the chair get up and walk away, and her thighs sported the imprint of the chair she was sitting in). Needless to say, can people watch while eating. Service: not much to comment on, since it's self serve. You place the order and pick it up when ready and bring it to wherever you're eating it (indoors or out). But, they were friendly at the counter, and noticed that they offered a lady a free refill of her iced tea, which I thought was sweet. Long review: Drinks: I had mango iced tea, my fiancee had lemonade. They were squeezing the lemons while we were placing our order and he couldn't resist. Both drinks were yummy and refreshing. They have like at least 10 different kinds of sweeteners ranging from your splenda to organic agave, so you can sweeten your iced tea to your heart's content. As for the lemonade- they were squeezing fresh lemons by hand. need I say more? We had the mediterranean platter. It came with romaine, hummus, olives, anchovies (they ask if you want it), one falafel covered in yogurt sauce, a stuffed grape leaf, tabouli, tomatoes and onions, a pita and a pickled pepper. The hummus was really, really good. It wasn't overly garlic-y or overly tahini-y like I find some to be, but it was also definitely home made, and had a nice texture. Like I said in my short review, all of their ingredients were excellent. Everything on its own tasted really fresh and good, and all of it together made for a really nice platter. We also had the mediterranean (?) pizza with everything, including anchovies on it. The same goes for this dish as the platter. Good ingredients= good food. From what I remember, it had cheese, anchovies, olives, onions, tomatoes, etc on a whole wheat pita. It wasn't anything very creative or out there, but it was simple, good food. And sometimes, that's all you need. all in all, would highly recommend. Their breakfast items looked good as well.
